As of writing this article, the greatest concert in the world is currently underway; over 500.000 people sing as one at Zagreb’s Hipodrom in an amazing display of country’s unity and patriotism.
The singer, Marko Perković Thompson, spoke to the crowd and said:
“Praise be to Jesus and Mary, my dear people! I want to express my deep gratitude to you for coming in such large numbers. We want to show great unity with this concert,” said Thomson from the stage.
“You have come from all parts of Croatia. We all share values, love for family and our homeland. I would like to say that you return to your roots and traditions, that we return to our Christian roots. Dear friends, tonight we will go through various themes from the ancient past and the not-so-ancient past through songs.”
“I have a message for Europe as well: Return to your roots, return to your Christian roots”.
The crowd is in a delirium and the feeling of unity is present while people sing as one. The flags are flying, the torches are burning, and the atmosphere is impossible to put in words.
The audience is singing every verse with enthusiasm. Familiar and unfamiliar people are hugging each other. Adults, children and the elderly are welcoming each new song and each note with smiles and enthusiasm on their faces. Unity is in the air.
Croatia just sent a message to Europe and to the world.
